PHARYNXIN

This disease is a diffuse inflammation of the pharyngeal mucous membrane, sub mucous membrane and lymph tissue.  It flares up mostly among the adults.  The course of disease is relatively longer.  Its symptom is intractable.  The disease is difficult to be completely cured.

The patient often has various pharyngeal unwell feelings, such as foreign body sensation, pharyngeal itch,  twinge or dry sensation after wake-up from sleeping.  The pharyngeal secretion is ropy.  In order to get rid of the secretion to avoid becoming nauseous, morning low pitch cough is uttered.

This disease is the result of the infection of upper respiratory tract. Infections like those of the
repeated onset of acute laryngopharyngitis, stuffy nose, caused by rhinitis and nasal sinusitis, that forces
the mouth to open to breathe.  Pharyngeal part, irritated by the backwards flowing of the purulent mucus,
may give rise to the disease.  Excessive smoking and drinking, occupational factors, general diseases and
etc. have definite influences upon the disease.

Examine the diffuse hyperemia of the pharyngeal mucous membrane, showing pachynsis and dark red.  There is folliculosis, scattering on the retropharyngeal wall, or mixing one another to form a mass. 
Often, it has ropy secretion attached to it.  The lateral pharyngeal band is swelling too.  It is not difficult to diagnose the disease.

The most important part of the treatment of the disease is to eliminate all the pathogenic factors and improve the constitution.  Apply various gargle solutions and tablet placed in the mouth may mitigate the symptom.  However, it is very difficult to obtain radical cure.  The prolonged incurability and repeated attack increases the perplexity of the patient.
